Coaching for excellence at the CAA
COACHING FOR EXCELLENCE (CfE), designed to develop CAA’s Learning & Development Specialists as business coaches. The team had been exploring the possibility of developing as coaches for some time and felt that there would be benefits both for their individual development and for their business areas within the CAA.
The difficulty was deciding from the plethora of coaching courses, just which programme was right for them. Discussions with the CAA team made one thing clear – that any programme of learning they embarked on would have to be as credible and rigorous as possible. This would reassure their clients that they were in competent hands when working one-to-one with any of the L&D Team, as well as providing the team with the satisfaction of challenging learning.
LJA offered the team a programme of seminars, assignments, one-to-one work, skills practice and supervision called Coaching for Excellence. The programme was delivered by LJA’s Director, Lesley Aitcheson, and included inputs from an additional two experienced and highly qualified LJA coaches, Jane Myers and Tatiana Prokayeva, to allow the team to experience some alternative real-life models of coaching for themselves.
“Lesley has an engaging and open style. She made me, and us, feel at ease and we felt able to ask questions about areas we were interested in. She allowed sufficient flexibility in the programme for this. She also shared her experiences of coaching with us and this helped in terms of seeing the coaching reality. She was also great fun and I looked forward to each module!” Thank you Lesley. Sati Khakh, Head of Organisation Development, CAA
“Lesley developed a course that was tailored perfectly to the individual needs of the delegates. This despite these needs being very different from delegate to delegate. Thank you for a most enjoyable course, where the learning far exceeded the immediate objective.” John Heather, Learning and Development Consultant, CAA
“Lesley is open and flexible in her approach which enables an individual to explore all aspects of a subject from an objective and subjective perspective. This course has enabled us to grow as a team in terms of how we individually operate to how we want to be perceived as a coaching group to the business. Lesley manages different types of learning styles in an open way that challenges us to think differently and remember how important this is when working with others.” Susie Standen, Learning and Development Consultant, CAA
