Commercial awareness
There’s no doubt about it, we are living in rapidly evolving times – we’ve already seen so much in the last couple of years - government interventions on unprecedented levels, global corporations crumbling, commodity prices crashing. Your organisation has almost certainly taken action already to ensure reduced costs, increased efficiency, and a re-focus on core business. So can you sit back a bit now and hope you can weather the storm with a strong work ethic and a smile? If only that was enough. The game has changed beyond all recognition.
Our one-hour session will wake you up and get you thinking about what’s happening out there and how you can do your part for your business:
- Can you see the opportunities and threats before your competitors do?
- Can you understand the implications of changes in your sector or organisation? Anyone can observe, but do you reflect, analyze, interpret and evaluate to useful effect?
- How will you create practical options for new approaches to your business?
- Can you develop your credibility in the business and build a reputation for contributing meaningfully to your business?
Mindfulness at Work
What on earth is Mindfulness and how can it help you at work? Mindfulness is a way of paying attention, of being deeply attuned to yourself, your environment and those around you. It is a natural state of mind, focused and aware. To be mindful is to be fully present and ‘in the moment’. This might sound like fluffy HR tree-hugging, but give us a moment to explain.
Mindfulness will help you:
- distinguish subjective thoughts from objective facts
- be more emotionally alert
- listen more attentively
- communicate more clearly
- direct your thoughts appropriately
- develop greater appreciation of present moment experience to allow you to be calm
The mindfulness skills we show you have been shown to be highly effective in reducing stress and anxiety and improving performance. You will leave the session felling calmer and more in control.
