Jane Myers delivers Train-the-Trainer Masterclass for Rok Exeter
Earlier in December, LJA's consultant Jane Myers ran a specially tailored masterclass for Helen Baker of Rok Exeter in Windsor. The day was designed to turn Helen from a subject matter expert in payroll into a competent trainer and facilitator!
Having listened carefully to Helen's brief, we put together a programme which included
- Understanding the purpose of training
- Establishing aims and objectives
- Considering learning styles
- Planning and preparing a training session
- Creating an inclusive learning environment
- The role of a good trainer - what makes a good trainer?
- The use of resources, e.g. Powerpoint, flip charts, games.
Jane told us " We had a really good day! We focussed on giving presentations and understanding how delegates react in different situations. I included lots of top tips on presentation tools and preparation. Helen said she'd had a brilliant day and loved the venue"
Of course, Helen will need to pracice her new skills to become really proficient as no-one becomes a competent facilitator overnight - but we will be with her every step of the way and offering telephone support when she needs it.
